AN ORDINANCE AMENDTNG CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF OUT LOT 72,
U.S. P. SURVEY N0. 2199, TOWNSHIP 31 NORTH, RANGE
14 EAST, CITY AND COUNTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURT, FROM R-2 TO R-4
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recom-
mended that all of the property described in Section 1 of this
ordinance should be rezoned from R-2, Single-Family Dwelling
District to R-4, Multiple Dwelling District ; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as pre-
scribed by Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and public hearing was held on
Wednesday, August 15, 1984 ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau ,
Missouri , has elected to rezone the property described in Sec-
tion 1 from R-2, Single-Family Dwelling District to R-4, Mul-
tiple Dwelling District ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l . Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change
the zoning from the present R-2, Single-Family Dwelling Dis-
trict to R-4, Multiple Dwelling District, for the following
described property:
A parcel of land containing 1 . 349 acres more or less
located in Out Lot No. 72 in U.S . P. Survey No. 2199,
Township 31 North, Range 14 East, in the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, described as follows ;
Start at the southeast corner of said Out Lot No. 72 ;
thence North 7° 30 ' East along the east line of Out Lot
No. 72, 1 , 767. 4 feet for the point of beginning ; thence
continue North 7° 30 ' East along said east line of Out
Lot No. 72, 248. 8 feet for a corner ; thence North 81� 56 '
West 236.1 feet for a corner ; thence South 7� 30' West
248. 8 feet for a corner ; thence South 81� 56' East 236. 1
feet to the point of beginning.

SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Section 1 hereof is at the present
time particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of R-4,
Multiple Dwelling District, and that such changes authorized
hereby are reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the
existing uses and value of the immediately surrounding
properties .
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval .
