AN ORDINAiVCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVYING OF THE
ANNUAL CITY REVENUE TAX; LIBRARY FUND TAX;
PUBLIC HEALTH TAX; AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT BOND
AND INTEREST FUND TAX, 1965; SPECIAL BUSINESS
DISTRICT N0. 2 TAX; FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
ENDING ON THE 30TH DAY OF JUNE, 1985
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. There is hereby levied for the fiscal year
ending on the 30th day of June, 1985, a City Revenue Tax of
Forty-Two Cents ($. 42) on the One Hundred Dollars ($100 . 00)
assessed valuation of all property within the City Limits made
taxable by law for State and County purposes and by Ordinances of
the City and not by general law exempt from taxation for Munici-
�al purposes.
SECTION 2. There is hereby levied for the fiscal year
ending on the 30th day of June, 1985, a Library Tax of Twenty
Cents ($. 20) on the One Hundred Dollars ($100 . 00) assessed
valuation of all property within the City Limits made taxable by
law for State and County purposes and the Ordinances of the City,
and not by genera.l law exempt from taxation for Municipal purposes.
SECTIOIv 3. There is hereby levied for the fiscal year
ending on the 30th day of June, 1985, a Public Health Tax of Five
Cents ($ . 05) on the One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) assessed valua-
tion of all property within the City Limits made taxable by law
for State and County purposes and the Ordinances of the City, and
not by general law exempt from taxation for Municipal purposes.
SECTION 4 . There is hereby levied for the fiscal year
ending on the 30th day of June, 1985, a (1965) Airport Bond and
Interest Fund Tax of Five Cents ($ . 05) on the One Hundred Dollars
($100 . 00) assessed valuation of all property within the City
Limits made taxable by law for State and County purposes and the
Ordinances of the City, and not by general law exempt from taxa-
tion for Municipal purposes .
SECTION 5. There is hereby levied for Special Business
District No. 2 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for the fiscal year
ending June 30, 1985, an ad valorem real estate tax of Eighty-
Five Cents ($. 85) on the One Hundred Dollars ($100 . 00) assessed
valuation of all real estate within Special Business District No.
2 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, not by general law exempt from
taxation.

SECTION 6 . It is hereby found and declared that an emergency
exists as provided for in Section 3 .15 of the City Charter for
the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in that Section 67. 110 RSMo
requires that political subdivisions fix their ad valorem property
tax rates not later than September l. Failure to comply with
this statutory provision could result in an inability to collect
ad valorem property taxes for current fiscal year thereby jeopardizing
the immediate public peace, property, health, safety and morals.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its final passage.
