AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU ,
MISSOURI , BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF
GREENWOOD FIRST AND SECOND SUBDIVISIONS ,
CITY AND COUNTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
FROM R-1 TO R-2
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Section 1 of
this ordinance should be rezoned from R-1 Single-Family
Dwelling District to R-2 , Single-Family Dwelling District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as
prescribed in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau , Missouri , and public hearing was held on
Monday, July 21 , 1986 ; and
4�HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau ,
Missouri , has elected to rezone the property described in
Section 1 from R-1 , Single-Family Dwelling District to R-2 ,
� Single-Family Dwelling District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU , MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau , Missouri , is hereby amended to change
the zoning from the present R-1 , Single-Family Dwelling
District to R-2 , Single-Family Dwelling District, for the
following described property:
That part of U . S .P. Survey 2198 and part of fractional
Section 25 , all in Township 31 North , Range 13 , East
of the Fifth Principal Meridian , described as
follows: Commence at a stone at the Northeast corner
of Belleridge Subdivision, being also the Northwest
corner of Greenwood First Subdivision; thence South
87° 59 ' East along the North line thereof , 749 . 41 feet
for a place of beginning; thence South 0° O1 ' West ,
875 . 18 feet; thence South 18° 22 ' West , 116 . 54 feet;
thence South 71° 38 ' East, 40 . 67 feet; thence South
18° 22 ' West, 156 . 00 feet to the center of Lisa Drive;
thence South 71° 38 ' East along said centerline,
151 . 33 fee�; thence along said centerline on a curve
to the right having a radius of 117 . 30 feet, a
'� distance of 48 . 62 feet; thence South 47° 53 ' East
along said centerline, 23 . 55 feet to the West line of
Greenwood Second Subdivision; thence North 42° 07 '
East along said West line of Greenwood Second
Subdivision, 227 . 28 feet ; thence North 0° O1 ' East
along said West line , 1055 . 01 feet; thence North 87° '�"
59 ' West, 308 . 19 feet to the place of beginning, in
the City of Cape Girardeau , Cape Girardeau County,
Missouri , containing 8 . 840 acres .
SECTION 2 . The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Section 1 hereof is at the present
time particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of R-2 ,
Single-Family Dwelling District, and that such changes
authorized hereby are reasonable and in reasonable conformity
with the existing uses and value of the immediately surrounding
properties .
SECTION 3 . Tt�is ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval .
