AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A FLOOD CONTROL
TRUST FUND
4JHFREAS, numerous areas throughout the City of Cape
Girardeau have been periodically subjected to flooding; and
WHFREAS, such flooding has caused the loss of human life
and has caused millions of dollars in economic losses; and
WHEREAS , the City is developing a city-wide storm water
control program to reduce the damage caused by flooding; and
���HEREAS, effective storm water control projects require the
expenditure of substantial sums of money; and
tiJHEREAS, a number of individuals have expressed the desire
to make contributions to the City to be used for flood control
purposes ;
t�10W, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSQURI , AS FOLLOWS:
'� SECTIOr1 l . There is hereby established a flood control
trust fund. All monetary contribu�ions received by the City
��hich are designated for flood control shall be deposited by
the Finance Director to ttle credit of this fund.
SECTION ?. . Moneys in the flood control trust fuild shall be
appropriated and disbursed only for flood control projects.
SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passag and approval .
