AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVYING OF
THE ANNUAL CITY REVENUE TAX; LIBRARY FUND
TAX; PUBLIC HEALTH TAX; DEBT SERVICE FUND
TAX; SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT N0. 2 TAX;
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING ON THE 30TH DAY
OF JUNE, 1988
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . There is hereby levied for the fiscal year ending
on the 30th day of .Tune, 1988 , a city revenue tax of Thirty Cents
(� . 30) on the One Hundred Dollars (�100 .00) assessed valuation of
all property within the city limits made taxable by law for state
and county purposes and not by general law exempt from taxation
for municipal purposes .
SECTION 2 . There is hereby levied for the fiscal year ending
on the 30th day of June, 1988, a library tax of Fourteen Cents
(� .14 ) on the One Hundred Dollars (�100 .00) assessed valuation of
all property within the Municipal Library District of the City of
Cape Girardeau made taxable by law for state and county purposes
and not by general law exempt from taxation for municipal
purposes .
SECTION 3. There is hereby levied for the fiscal year ending
on the 30th day of June, 1988 , a public health tax of Four Cents
(� .04) on the One Hundred Dollars (�100 .00) assessed valuation of
all property within the city limits made taxable by law for state
and county purposes and not by general law exempt from taxation
for municipal purposes .
SECTION 4. Th�re is hereby levied for the fiscal year ending
on the 30th day of June, 1988 , a debt service fund tax of Ten
Cents (� .10) on the One Hundred Dollars (�100.00) assessed
valuation of all property within the city limits made taxable by
law for state and county purposes and not by general law exempt
from taxation for municipal purposes .
SECTION 5 . There is hereby levied for Special Business
District No. 2 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri , f or the fiscal year
ending June 30, 1988 , an ad valorem real estate tax of Eighty-Five
Cents ($ .85) on the One Hundred Dollars ( $100 .00) assessed
valuation of all real estate within Special Business District No .
2 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, not by general law exempt from
taxation .
SECTION 6 . If any section, subsection, sentence, clause ,
phrase or portion of this ordinan ce is for any reason held invalid
or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions hereof .
SECTION 7 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its final passage and approval .
