AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, TO ELECT A
COUNCILMEMBER IN WARD 3 ; DESIGNATING THE TIME
OF HOLDING THE ELECTION; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE OF THE
ELECTION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. A special election is hereby ordered to be held in
the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 2 , 1994,
to elect a Councilmember to fill a vacancy in Ward 3 .
ARTICLE 2 . The form of the notice of election for the special
election, a copy of which is hereby attached and made a part
hereof, is hereby approved.
ARTICLE 3 . The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to notify the County Clerk of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, of
the passage of this ordinance no later than 5: 00 o'clock P.M. on
June 7, 1994, and to include in the notification all of the terms
and provisions required by the Comprehensive Election Act, Chapter
115, Missouri Revised Statutes, as amended.
ARTICLE 4 . Pursuant to Section 3 . 15 of the Charter of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, this measure is adopted as an
emergency measure because it calls an election and it provides for
the submission of a proposal to the people. Accordingly, this
ordinance will take effect immediately upon its passage and
approval.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, that, pursuant to Article VII of its
Charter, the City of Cape Girardeau has called a Special Election
to be held in the City on Tuesday, August 2, 1994 , commencing at
6 : 00 A.M. and closing at 7 : 00 P.M. on that day. The following is
a sample of the ballot to be used at the Special Election:

WARNING: Voting for more than one candidate will
invalidate this ballot.
Mark a cross (X) mark in the box opposite the name
of the candidate for whom you wish to vote.
