Whereas, A rsajority of the owners of property on Belvi_ev, Street- betiveen

and gravel said part of Belvier, Street and assess the cost thereof to the
abutting property thereon , and.
Rhere,is, The City Council deening it a public neces,,;i.ty and therefore
necessary that said part of Belviev Street should be graded and graveled,

Section one. (1.) -That por'iV7.oYi of Belvi_er Street- frog Pac-ific Street to
Spri_�g Street, is hereby reciuired. to be graded to the establ is bed grade there—

Belvi ew Street shall be gr, veled thirty U ('85) feet in Width and the depth
as hereinafter set out,to wit:

subject to the approval of the Street Coma-s-si.oner.
Section. Two. (2)- The City Engineer is hereby regui.red to Yake estlmdite of the
costs of the work herein and file ti -Ie same with the City Clerk,and if tre same
sha+l be approved' by tine City Council,the City Clerk: shall thereupon advertise
for proposals for .grading and, gravelling said part of Belvi.ew Street,in tr,e

Said advert i-se:n,ent shall be in the usuai. forTn,the. last in-
sertiorn to be at least ten days, before= the time advertised_ for reoei.vi.rg
bids. If any bid shill be eccepted,the city shall er_ter i rtc contract witi,
the successful bidder for said work,subject to a).1 the condi.ti.cr;s,l_imit�tiors,
stipulations and bond nov required by tris end existing or°dinar;ces; andif no
bid is ecceptec+,the Council mayby resolution,inztruct the City Clerk to re-
cdvertise 4s iri the first instances or if in their judgment, it is to the i.n-
tOrest Of t17e city to do tio,instruct the Street and Wharf Coirm)ittee to pro-
ceedand do all of said work., without re-wdverti sing; Provided, holveve:r, that said
Conmi.ttee shall keep an accurate account of the cost of said gravelling and
grading and make report, thereof to the City Council on the coaipletiori of the
work herein authoriv,ed to be done.
If said work shall be construcW by contra.:t,or otherwisc.,the
cost of said grading and gravelling shall be: apportioner':,�.ssessed,taxed and.
collected' as now provided by ordi n�inc;e, and the duties of the City Engineer,
City Clerkkand Street. Coaimiesioner in relatioi! therE:tc shall be in ccnforiA'by
therewith.
