SII'TION 1: That portion of South Louisiana Avenue in 11
City of Cape Girardeau, Yissouri. from the south edge of the
existing caner e-te pavement on B-loomr-Iffield Street to the North
line of Cousin Street, the same being within District I%To- 3 of
"Cohe City of Cape Girardeau, as laid out and designated
by Commission Form Ordinance No. 800, passed and approved on the
3rd day o. -EL' July, 1937, shall be repaired and resurfaced in
accordance with said Go=-. ission Fow-m Ordinance No. 800, and is
hereby designated as Project No. 8 in said District No. 3.
SECTION -,--: The road. way of said street shall be repaired
and resurfaced. by reshaping and grading the existing gravel
base thereon and installing on the base so shaped and re -paired,
an asphaltic concrete pavement '110 feet in width and not less than
If inChas in thickness.

shall be done by the Street Department of the City of Cape

Girardeau, iiissouri, under the direction and supervision of
the City Engineer so that the cost of such repairing and resurfac-
ing shall not exceed an amount equal to 60 cents per front scotI= -
of property fronting and abutting on said port'Lon. of said street
so improved.
SECTION 4: An accurate account shall be kept by the City
Engineer of the costk of said wore and such costs shall be
defrayed by a special tax to be assessed in favor of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri-, against the property fronting and abut-
ting on said portion of said street in tine proportion that the
linear -feet of each lot or tract fronting and abutting on said
portion of said street bears to the total number of linear feet
on all of the property fronting and abutting on the portion of
said street so repaired and resurfaced.
,SECTION 5: Upon the completion of said work the
Engineer shall report to the Council the total cost of said
reairir_g and resurfacing on said portion of said titreet, the
total number of linear feet of property fronting and abutting
thereon and the proportionate share of such total cost charge-
able against each lot, tract and parcel of land fronting or
abutting on said portion of said street in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance.
"ECT1C;N Upon tY:e filing of such report by the City
Engineer, the City Council shall examine the same and if said
report be found to be correct and the total cost of said re-
pairing and resurfacing does not exceed 60 senta per front foot
on all of the property fronting and abutting up^n said portion
of said street, the Council shall levy and assess a special tax
of-ainst said property in accordance with said report.
SECTION 7: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict with trio provisions hereof are hereby repealed.
SECTION 8: This ordinance 23hall take effect and be in
force from and after ten days after its passage.
