AN ORDINANCE APENDING COMMNSSION FORM ORDINANCE O. 1151,
PASSED AND APPROVED MAY 222 19.8, BY REPEALING SECTION 2
OF SAID ORDINANCE AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NE`
SECTION TOBEKNOWN AS SECTION 2. ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Commission Form. Ordinance No. 1151.,
passed and approved May 22, 1948, is hereby repealed in all things.
SECTION 2. There is hereby enacted in lieu of Section 2 of
said ordinance a new section to be known as Section 2 and to read
as follows,*
Section 2. The Chief Inspector shall train and
supervise the Assistant Inspectors of the Division. He
shall supervise the stork. of the Division and he and the
said Assistants shall be responsible for the enforcement.
of this Ordinance. The Chief Inspector shall be avail-
able at all times to inspect any carcasses suspected or
questioned by the Assistant Inspectors and retained for
final inspection. When the actual ante-mortem and post-
mortem. examination, as hereinafter provided for, is being
conducted by an Assistant Inspector who is not a qualified
veterinarian, then the Chief inspector shall supervise -the
work of each such assistant inspector at least once on
each day of slaughter in each slaughtering or processing
plant within the city. The Chief Inspector shall receive
total compensation of $175.00 per month as salary, payable
in equal semi-monthly payments. Each of the Assistant
Inspectors shall receive $209.00 per month as. salary,
payable in equal semi-monthly payments. Each of the
Assistant Inspectors shall prepare a monthly report to the
City CoUnc-il of the work of the Division, including the
number and kind of animals and carcasses inspected; the
number and kind thereof condemned; and the fees earned
and collected by the Division.* The report of each
Assistant Inspector shall be approved by the Chief In-
spector before being forwarded to the City Council...
SECTION 3. All other sections and provisions contained in
said Commission Ordinance No. 1151 are hereby re -affirmed.
SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict- herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after May 1, 1953.
