AN ORDINANCE REPEALING COMMISSION FORM ORDINANCE NO.
1694, PASSED AND APPROVED ON APRIL -2- 11956, and
ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR
THE CREATION OF "NO PARKING" ZONES ALONG AND ON A
PART OF GOOD HOPE STREET, ALONG AND ON A PART OF
BROADWAY STREET, AND ALONG AND ON A PART OF NORTH
FOUNTAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AND PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES
IN SUCH DESIGNATED ZONES, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES
FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Commission Form. Ordinance No. 1694, passed
and approved on April 2 , 1956, be, and the same,hereby is, repealed.
SECTION 2: That the Police Department shall be and hereby
is authorized and directed to designate by painting lanes, signs
or other appropriate.means, "No Parking4° zones or spaces at the
curb, at the following places, to -wit:
� On the south side of Good nope Street for a distance
Of fifty (50) feet west from the intersection of
said south side of Good Hope Street and the west
side of Sprigg Street.
On the east side of North Fountain Street for a
distance of Thirty -Five (35) feet south from a point
117 feet south of the intersection of said east side
of North Fountain Street and the south side of
Broadway Street.
On the south side of Broadway Street for a
distance of Forty -Six (46) feet in front of
1115 Broadway.
SECTION 3: From and after the effective date of this
ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person to stop or park
in the aforesaid f'No Parking" zones, except that vehicles may stop
in said "No Parking" zones for the purpose of depositing mail in
the mail boxes located atthe in �`ersec�on �of�"000"pe ""ts'eet and
Sprigg Street, at the intersection. of North Fountain Street and
Broadway Street, and in front of 1115 Broadway, for a period of
time not to exceed one minute.
SECTION 4: Any person who shall violate any of the terms
and provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of
not less than One Dollar ($1.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars
($100.00).
SECTION 5: All ordinances orparts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions hereof are hereby.repealed.
SECTION 6: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after ten days after its passage and approval.
