AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU BY
CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF LOTS 25, 32, 33, 35,
AND ALL OF LOT 34, RANGE "I", CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
TO CLASS "E", COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, The Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended
that all of the property described in Section I of this ordinance should be
rezoned Class "E", Commercial District; and
WHEREAS, Public notice of such change in zoning was given as prescribed
by Chapter 25 of the General Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau and public
hearing was held in conformity with such notice by the City Council on the 7th day
of September, 1965, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 2.5 of the General Ordinances of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the boundary of the present
Class "Ell, Commercial District, so as to include the following described property:
The middle part of Lot 25 (60 x 88) Range "I"e Parts of Lots 32,'.--
33, 35 and all of Lot 34, Range "i'i, further described as follows.'
BeginniIng at a point in the East line of Fountain Street 366 feet south of
its intersection with the South line of Morgan Oak Street, then running
eastwardly and parallel with. the South line of Morgan Oak Street
for a distance of 256 feet to a point; thence northwardly .. and
parallel to the East line of Fountain Street for 166 feet to a paint;
thence Westwardly and parallel to the South line of Morgan Oak Street
for a distance of 256 feet to a point in the East line of Fountain Street
to the point of beginning, all lying in the City of Cape Girardeau, Moa
The South 50 feet of the East 68 feet of Lot 25, Range "I", City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Section 2< The City Council hereby finds and declares that the property
described in Section I hereof is at the present time particularly suitable for the

uses and purposes of Class "E", Commercial District and that such change

authorized hereby is reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the existing
uses and value of the immediately surrounding properties.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten days after
its passage and approval.
