IN THE CITY OF CAPE GDUMEAU, MISSOURI, AND PROVIDING F(R THE ISSUANCE OF
SH; CIAL TAX BILLS IN THE PAYMENT OF THE COST OF SAME.
BE IT ORD -ADM BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the portion of North Street
in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, from the center of Fo,,mtain Street

o the center of Middle Street
the same being in District No. 1 , in. hte City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, as
laid out and designated by Commission Form Ordinance T,o. 800, passed and approved
on the 23rd day of July,1937, and Commission Form Ord'_nance No. 1616, passed and
appro;-ed on the 20th day of June, 1955, shall be repaired and resurfaced in
accordance with said Commission Form Ordinances No. 800 and 1616, as Project No. 5-62'
in said District No.
SECTION 2. The following work shall be done: Repair and prepare the existing
concrete pavement, curb and gutter, resurface the existing concrete pavement Nelda
asphaltic concrete to secure a uniform,. surface where necessary, including a1= other
work pertinent thereto.
SECTION 3. Said repairing and resurfacing of said street shall be done by the
Department of Public Works of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, under the
direction and supervision of the City Engineer, so that the cost of such repairing
and resurfacing shall not exceed an amount equal to One Dollar (w1.00) per front
foot of property fronting and abutting on said portion of said street improved.
SECTION 4. An accurate account shall be kept by the City Engineer of the cost
of said work, including payment at contract prices of any portions thereof done
by contract, and such cost shall be defrayed by a special tax to be assessed in
favor of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, against the property fronting and
abutting on said portion of said street in the proportion that the linear feet
of each lot or tract fronting and abutting on said portion of said street bears
to the total number of linear feet of all the property fronting and abutting on
that portion of said street so repaired and resurfaced,.
SECTION 5. Upon the completion of said work the City Engineer shall report to
the Council the total cost of said repairing and resurfacing of said street., the
total number of linear feet of property fronting and abutting thereon, and the
proportionate share of such total cost chargeable against each lot, tract, and
parcel of land fronting and abutting on said portion of said street, in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 6. Upon the .filing of such report by the City Engineer, the City
Council shall examine the same.. and if said report be found correct, and the
total cost of said repairing and resurfacing does not exceed one dollar (01.00)
per front foot on all of the property fronting and abutting on the said por lon of
said street, the Council shall levy and assess a special tax against said property
in accordance with said report. Said tax bills shall be sold for not less than
their face value, and assigned by the City Clerk to any purchaser or purchasers
thereof. Said tax bills shall bear interest at the rate of eight (8) per cent,
per annum, from and after 60 days after the date of issuance.
SECTION 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION S. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
ten days following its passage and approval.
