AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF LANDIS STREET IN "CAPE
MEADOWS" BETWEEN CAPE MEADOWS CIRCLE AND LANDIS STREET
RUNNING EAST AND WEST
................
WHEREAS, There is no public need for Landis Street in
"Cape Meadows" as it exists between: Cape Meadows Circle and
Landis Street running East and West.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. All that portion of Landis Street in 'Cape
Meadows" as it exists between Cape Meadows Circle and Landis
Street, described by metes and bounds as follows® Begin at
the Southeast Corner of Lot 1, Block 1, ".Cape Meadows`, thence
N. 9° 09.1 E., 60.0 feet, along the East line of said Lot 1,
thence S. 821 441 E.., 50.0 feet, to the Northwest corner of
Lot 11, Block 2; thence S 90 091 W., 60, along the West line
of Lot 11, thence N. 82° 441 W, 50.0 feet to the Southeast
Corner of Lot 1, Block 1 and the point 'of beginning, is hereby
vacated.
SECTION 2. There is hereby retained by the City of Cape
Girardeau any and all easements for sewer or utilities purposes,
under, through, and across said land described in Section 1
hereof.
SECTION 3. The Mayor of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute and
deliver to the owner of property fronting and abutting on the
land described in Section 1 of this Ordinance, Quit Claim Deeds
to the said lands to the extent that said lands revert by law
to said abutting owners.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shAll -be in full force and
effect ter (l.Q). days after its passage 'and approval.

• Whereas the City of Cape Girardeau issued a vacation ordinance in 1969 for a portion of
Landis Street which states that Quit Claim Deeds would be issued.
• Whereas this City Manager Form Ordinance Number 380 has been of record for the City
of Cape Girardeau since April 16, 1969.
• Whereas it seems that the property owners, at that time, did not record the issued QCD.
The City of Cape Girardeau, MO is recording this 1969 City Manager Form Ordinance # 380 so
that it can officially become part of the title records.
