ORDINANCE NO. (24E ,5
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, AN ALLEY RUNNING WEST
FROM THE 500 BLOCK OF NORTH MAIN STREET
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a request from the
property owners of property abutting an alley running West one
hundred forty feet from the 500 block of North Main Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council set the date of September 15,
1986 for a public hearing on this request; and
WHEREAS, at least ten days notice of the time and place of
this hearing was published in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City; -and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on September 15, 1986 at
which all interested parties were afforded the opportunity to
speak in favor of or in opposition to the proposed vacation of
the alley; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the
right-of-way in question is not necessary or needed for any of
the purposes for which it was dedicated and established; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that the right-of-way
easement be vacated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City's right-of-way easement on the
following described real estate:
Part of an alley ten feet wide running
westerly one hundred forty feet from North
Main Street between Block 2 and Lot 5, Block
1 of Ranney Place in the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri.
is hereby vacated.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval.

instrument is the seal of said City and that the said
instrument was signed and sealed in behalf of said City by
authority of its City Council and acknowledged said instrument
to be the free act and deed of said City.

affixed my official seal, at my office in Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, the day and year first above written.
