Dear Mayor and Council Members:
Subject: Ordinance Authorizing Quit Claim
Deed to Ralph Edwards Sportswear, Inc.
The City Council, at its last meeting, gave first reading to an
ordinance which authorized the City to give a Quit Claim Deed to
Ralph Edwards Sportswear, Inc. This Quit Claim Deed would give
whatever property ownership the City had in a portion of the
abandoned railway property adjacent to Broadview Street to this
company.
This request was made of the City by Ralph Edwards Sportswear,
Inc., in order to correct the description of a Quit Claim Deed
previously given to this company for which they paid a monetary
consideration. This original action was taken by the City Council in
March of 1986.
This item is on the City Council Agenda for second and third
reading consideration.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED TRANSFERRING THE
CITY'S INTEREST IN CERTAIN PROPERTY ON
BROADVIEW TO RALPH EDWARDS SPORTSWEAR, INC.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager on behalf of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby authorized to esecute a Quit Claim
Deed transferring the City's interest in the following described
property:
All of our right, title and interest in and
to that one hundred (100) foot right of way
as conveyed to the St. Louis, Cape Girardeau
& Southern Railroad Company by Deed of
Right -of -Way dated May 1, 1906 from C. W.
Nothdurft to the St. Louis, Cape Girardeau &
Southern Railroad Company and which is
recorded at Book 97, Page 486 of the Land
Records of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.
Said premises being bounded by the South
line of Lot 9 of Northdurft's Partition for
the northern boundary with the southern
boundary being a line parallel with said
North boundary (South line of said Lot 9)
and one hundred (100) feet to the South
thereof measured on the perpendicular
between the two said parallel lines and with
the West boundary being Broadview Street and
the East boundary being the West boundary
line of Lot 5 of Out Lot 81.
Also any and all interest which Grantor has
in the railroad rights of way on the
premises which formerly comprised same prior
to any abandonment thereof
common formally or by
law or otherwise, and held or
previously held by the C., G. & N. Railroad,
the St. Louis, Cape Girardeau
Railroad Company, the & Southern
Missouri Pacific
Railroad Company, the Union Pacific Railroad
Company, or any other railroad or railroad
company, and their respective successors and
assigns, as lie between Broadview
the West, the West boundar Street on

line Of Lot 8 and the North line of Lot 9
all in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. '
To Ralph Edwards Sportswear, Inc.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
