ORDINANCE NO. 517
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF. CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF
SURVEY NO. 2198, TOWNSHIP 31 NORTH, RANGE 13
EAST, CITY AND COUNTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI FROM R-1 TO R-3
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning. Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Section 1 of
this ordinance should be rezoned from R-1 Single -Family Dwelling
District to R-3, Two -Family Dwelling District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as prescribed
in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape
Girardeau,. Missouri, and public hearing was held on Monday,
October 5, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in Section
1 from R-1, Single --Family Dwelling District to R-3, Two -Family
Dwelling District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL' OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the
zoning from the present R-1, Single -Family Dwelling District to
R-3, Two -Family Dwelling District, for the following described
property:
A parcel of land containing 0.382 of an acre, more or
less, located in Survey No. 2198, Township 31 North,
Range 13 East, described as follows:
Start at the southwest corner of the Southwest Quarter
or the Southeast Quarter of Section 24, if the quarter
.section line were extended into Survey No. 2198;
thence South 890 35' East, along the South line of
Section 24, 334.0 feet to the Southwest corner of the
MeyerIsProperty; thence North 00 20' West, 411.8 feet
for the point .of beginning; thence continue North 00
20' West, 90.4 feet for a corner; thence South 890 351
East, 163.5 feet for a corner in the West line of
Perryville Road; thence South 24°.52' East, 100.0 feet
for a corner; thence North 89* 35' West, 205.0 feet to
tfie point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Section 1 hereof is at the present time
particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of R-3, Two -Family
Dwelling District, and that such changes authorized hereby are
reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the existing uses and
value of the immediately surrounding properties.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
