HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd.792.12-04-1989BILL NO. 89-221 ORDINANCE NO. / q% AN ORDINANCE NAMING STREETS IN THE CITY PARKS OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AND AMENDING SECTION 26-19, SCHEDULE J, PERTAINING TO ONE-WAY STREETS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: ARTICLE 1. CHEROKEE PARK. In Cherokee Park, that portion of the road extending from the intersection with Perryville Road Northeasterly and Northerly to Lexington Avenue, a distance of 2800 feet, more or less, is hereby named ROTARY DRIVE. ARTICLE 2. CAPAHA PARK. In Capaha Park, that portion of the road extending Westerly from the intersection with West End Boulevard to its intersection with Perry Avenue, a distance of 1200 feet, more or less, is hereby named PARKVIEW DRIVE. In Capaha Park, that portion of the roadway with constitutes an extension Westerly from the West right-of-way line of Missouri Avenue, a distance of 120 feet, more or less, is hereby named PARKVIEW DRIVE. In Capaha Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its intersection with Broadway Northerly and Northeasterly, a distance of 750 feet to its intersection with the Normal Street entrance to Capaha Park, is hereby named LEGION DRIVE. In Capaha Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its Western most intersection with Parkview Drive Southerly, 250 feet, more or less, to the center of a 1801 curve; thence Northerly 250 feet to its Eastern most intersection with Parkview Drive as hereinabove named, is hereby named CHERRY HILL CIRCLE. Section 26-19, Schedule J, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to make CHERRY HILL CIRCLE one-way in the direction in which it is described herein. ARTICLE 3. ARENA PARK. In Arena Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its intersection with Kingshighway Westerly and Southerly, a distance of 2100 feet, more or less, to its intersection with the street herein named Jaycee Drive, is hereby named KIWANIS DRIVE. In Arena Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its intersection with Kiwanis Drive Southerly and thence Northwesterly, a distance of 3400 feet, more or less, to its intersection with East Rodney Drive, is hereby named OPTIMIST DRIVE. In Arena Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its intersection with East Rodney Drive Easterly 330 feet, more or less, to its intersection with Kiwanis Drive is hereby named CONSERVATION DRIVE. In Arena Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its intersection with Conservation Drive, Southerly 1,030 feet, more or less, to its intersection with Optimist Drive is hereby named LIONS WAY. In Arena Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its intersection with East Rodney Drive, Easterly and Southerly 1,350 feet, more or less, to its intersection with Optimist Drive is hereby named JAYCEE DRIVE. In Arena Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its intersection with Optimist Drive, Westerly 520 feet, more or less, to its intersection with Jaycee Drive, is hereby named EXPO WAY. In Arena Park, that portion of the roadway extending from the Western terminus of existing Atlas Drive, also being the Eastern boundary of Arena Park, Westerly 500 feet, more or less, to its intersection with Jaycee Drive, is hereby named ATLAS DRIVE. In Arena Park, that portion of the roadway extending from its Southern most intersection with Kiwanis Drive Easterly and Northerly, a distance of 600 feet, more or less, to its Northern most intersection with Kiwanis Drive, is hereby named V.F.W. DRIVE. Section 26-19, Schedule J, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to make V.F.W. DRIVE one-way in the direction in which it is described herein. ARTICLE 4. CAPE ROCK PARK. In Cape Rock Park, the circular drive extending to the East of Cape Rock Drive and circleing Cape Rock with a total length of 400 feet, more or less, is hereby named CAPE ROCK CIRCLE. Section 26-19, Schedule J, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to make CAPE ROCK CIRCLE one-way in a counter -clockwise direction. ARTICLE 5. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof. ARTICLE 7. It is the intention of the governing body and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and the sections of this Code may be renumbered to accomplish such intention.
