AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SCHEDULE A OF SECTION
26-106 OF THE CITY CODE, RELATING TO THE SPEED
LIMIT ON INTERSTATE 55
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Schedule A of Section 26-106 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, relating to
speed limits, is hereby amended by adding the following:
Interstate 55, North city limits to South city limits,
sixty-five (65) miles per hour.
Interstate 55, North city limits to South city limits,
trucks over 24000 pounds, sixty (60) miles per hour.
Interstate 55, North city limits to South city limits,
minimum speed, forty (40) miles per hour.
SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid
or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions hereof.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
