AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL
TAX BILLS FOR THE DEMOLITION OF DANGEROUS
BUILDINGS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 9-A OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU
WHEREAS, the Building Supervisor of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, issued an Order Causing Certain Dangerous Buildings to be
Demolished; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau did cause said buildings to
be demolished in accordance with the Order thereby incurring
certain expenses; and
WHEREAS, the Building Inspector authorized the issuance of
certain tax bills;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and ordered to
place on file Special Tax Bills issued in accordance with the Order
of the Building Supervisor which shall be a lien against the
following described property in accordance with law, until paid or
collected by the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri:
$1,250.00 -- 522 South Frederick Street, Lot 21, Garaghty
Addition.
$1,245.00 -- 714 Merriwether Street, West 23 feet of
South 60 feet of Lot 36, Range B.
SECTION 2. Said Tax Bills shall bear an interest rate of eight
per cent (8%) per annum.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
