AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 822 WILLIAM
STREET, CITY AND COUNTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI FROM R-4 TO C-2
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Section 1 of
this ordinance should be rezoned from R-4, Multiple Dwelling
District to C-2, General Commercial District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as prescribed
in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, and public hearing was held on Monday,
July 10, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in Section
1 from R-4, Multiple Dwelling District to C-2, General Commercial
District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the
zoning from the present R-4, Multiple Dwelling District to C-2,
General Commercial District, for the following described property:
All of Lots Nos. 5 and 6 of Painter Partition in Range
"A", in the City of Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau
County, Missouri, and more particularly described as
follows: Begin at the Southeast corner of said Lot No. 5
on the North side of William Street; thence West along
said William Street 90 feet; thence North parallel with
Pacific Street 147 1/2 feet; thence East parallel with
William Street 90 feet, to an alley; thence South along
said alley 147 1/2 feet to the place of beginning.
NOTE: From the original Painter Partition Plat, filed in
the Circuit Clerk's Office, it appears that said Lots 5
and 6 are a part of a subdivision of Lot Nos. 63 and 64,
in Range "A" in the original Town of Cape Girardeau.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Section 1 hereof is at the present time
particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of C-2, General
Commercial District, and that such changes authorized hereby are
reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the existing uses and
value of the immediately surrounding properties.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
