AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF
LOT 8, RANGE "E", CITY AND COUNTY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI FROM C-3 TO R-4
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Section 1 of
this ordinance should be rezoned from C-3 Central Business
District to R-4, Multiple Dwelling District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as prescribed
in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, and public hearing was held on Monday, March
6, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in Section
1 from C-3, Central Business District to R-4, Multiple Dwelling
District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the
zoning from the present C-3, Central Business District to R-4,
Multiple Dwelling District, for the following described property:
All that part of Lot 8, Range "E" in the City and County
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri described as follows:
Commence at the Northwest corner of said Lot 8; thence
East along the North line of Lot 8 and the South line of
Bellevue Street, 55.0 feet for the point of beginning;
thence continue East along said lot line and said street
line, 133.82 feet; thence South with the East line of Lot
8, 140.0 feet; thence West parallel with the North line
of Lot 8, 133.82 feet; thence North parallel with the
West line of Lot 8, 140.0 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Section 1 hereof is at the present time
particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of R-4, Multiple
Dwelling District, and that such changes authorized hereby are
reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the existing uses and
value of the immediately surrounding properties.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
