ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF
LOT 8, RANGE "E", CITY AND COUNTY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI FROM C-3 TO R-4
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Section 1 of
this ordinance should be rezoned from C-3 Central Business
District to R-4, Multiple Dwelling District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as prescribed
in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, and public hearing was held on Monday, March
6, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of. the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in Section
1 from C-3, Central Business District to R-4, Multiple Dwelling
District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the
zoning from the present C-3, Central Business District to R-4,
Multiple Dwelling District, for the following described property:
Commence at the Northwest corner of Lot 8, Range E, in
the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, said corner being
the point of beginning; thence South along the West line
of said Lot 8, 140 feet, more or less; thence East,
parallel to the South line of Bellevue Street, 218.8
feet, more or less, to the center line of Spanish Street;
thence North along and with said center line, 40 feet,
more or less, to the South line (extended) of the North
half of Lot 6, Range E, in said City; thence East along
and with said South line, and said South line extended,
parallel to the South line of Bellevue Street, 300.3
feet, more or less, to the East line of Main Street in
said City; thence North along and with the East line of
Main Street, 130 feet, more or less, to the center line
of Bellevue Street; thence West along and with the center
line of Bellevue Street, 519.1 feet, more or less; thence
South 30 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Section 1 hereof is at the present time
particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of R-4, Multiple
Dwelling District, and that such changes authorized hereby are
reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the existing uses and
value of the immediately surrounding properties.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
