AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND ENACTING SUPPLEMENT
NUMBER ONE TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI; PROVIDING FOR THE
REPEAL OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED
THEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF AMENDING
SUCH CODE; AND PROVIDING WHEN SUCH SUPPLEMENT
SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The Code entitled "Code of Ordinances, City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri" published by Municipal Code Corporation,
consisting of Chapters 1 through 30, each inclusive, was
previously adopted by this Council on December 5, 1990, by
Ordinance No. 952.
ARTICLE 2. All ordinances of a general and permanent nature
enacted between the dates of February 20, 1990 and January 1,
1991, inclusive, and not included either in the "Code of
Ordinances, City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri" adopted by Ordinance
No. 952 or in Supplement Number 1 or recognized and continued in
force by reference therein are hereby repealed.
ARTICLE 3. The repeal provided for in Article 2 hereof shall
not be construed to revive any ordinance or part thereof that has
been repealed by a subsequent ordinance that is repealed by this
ordinance. No portion of the "Code of Ordinances, City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri" as adopted by the City Council in Ordinance
No. 952 on December 5, 1990, is repealed or modified except to the
extent that it is explicitly repealed or modified by the terms of
the ordinances adopted by this Council between February 20, 1990
and January 1, 1991, inclusive, and incorporated into Supplement
Number 1 to said Code.
ARTICLE 4. Future additions or amendments to the Code when
passed in the form as to indicate the intention of the council to
make the same a part of the Code shall be deemed to be
incorporated in the Code, so that reference to the Code includes
the additions and amendments.
ARTICLE 5. Ordinances adopted after January 1, 1991, that
amend or refer to ordinances that have been codified in the Code,
shall be construed as if they amend or refer to like provisions of
the Code.
ARTICLE 6. This ordinance shall become effective ten days
after its passage and approval.
