ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE
FINAL SCHEMATIC PLAN FOR THE RIVER CAMPUS
PROJECT, IN THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, hereby approves and adopts the Final Schematic Plan
for the River Campus Project, in the City of Girardeau,
Missouri, submitted by Southeast Missouri State University. A
copy of said Final Schematic Plan is attached to this Ordinance
as Exhibit A and made a part hereof.
ARTICLE 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.

Dear Mayudtson,
After discus � n 'th MoDOT, the Cape Girardeau City Council, the Cape Girardeau Chamber of
Commerce, and you, it appeared that the original plan to locate a Missouri Affiliated Welcome Center on
the west side of the new River Campus should be withdrawn. The Board of Regents of Southeast
Missouri State University has decided to reconfigure that space and proceed with construction. In
addition to restroom facilities, originally planned to be jointly used by the Welcome Center, and staging
area for food service, the space will also be used for the following:
Single large space use
• Approximate area 2,600 SF
Approximate occupancy — standing only event 200 persons
Approximate occupancy — sit-down dining event 144 persons
Subdivided (2 -space) use
• Approximate area — large space
2,050 SF
Approximate occupancy — standing only event
155 persons
Approximate occupancy — sit-down dining event
112 persons
• Approximate area — small space
550 SF
Approximate occupancy — standing only event
40 persons
Approximate occupancy — sit-down dining event
24 persons
Attached is a site plan and preliminary concept plan.
We are requesting that the Cape Girardeau City Council approve the modifications to the River Campus.
