ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE ELECTING A CHANGE IN THE
MISSOURI LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES'
RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO ADOPT THE LT -8(65) PLAN
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, an employer
under the Missouri Local Government Employees' Retirement System,
hereby elects to adopt the LT -8(65) benefit program as offered by
the Missouri Local Government Employees' Retirement System in
order to improve the retirement benefits offered to employees of
the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, further elects to pay all of the cost of
such benefit program and will not require employees to make
contributions to such benefit program.
ARTICLE 2. The election made in Article 1 shall be effective
on the first day of August, 2000.
ARTICLE 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to certify the election made in this ordinance to the Missouri
Local Government Employees' Retirement System within ten (10)
days after the passage and approval of this ordinance.
ARTICLE 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
