AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
OF ORDINANCES OF THE
MISSOURI, BY CHANGING
HOPE STREET, CITY
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
ORDINANCE NO. d2Q4/
CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
THE ZONING OF 801 GOOD
AND COUNTY OF CAPE
FROM R-4 AND C-1 TO R-4
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Article 1 of this
ordinance should be rezoned from R-4, Multiple Dwelling District
and C-1, Local Commercial District to R-4, Multiple Dwelling
District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as prescribed
in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, and public hearing was held on Monday, May 1,
2000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in Article 1
from R-4, Multiple Dwelling District and C-1, Local Commercial
District to R-4, Multiple Dwelling District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the zoning
from the present R-4, Multiple Dwelling District and C-1, Local
Commercial District to R-4, Multiple Dwelling District, for the
following described property:
All of Lots 55, 57, 58, 71, 72, and part of Lot 56, Range
"H", in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, described
by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest Corner of said Lot 58 of said
Range "H"; thence South 830 15' 21" East, along the
Southerly Right -of -Way Line of Good Hope Street, 379.50
feet to its intersection with the Westerly Right -of -Way
Line of Ellis Street; thence South 060 44' 39" West,
along said Right -of -Way, 162.20 feet to a 1/2" Iron Rod
at the Northeast Corner of a Tract of Land found in Book
474 at Page 514 of the Land Records of Cape Girardeau
County, Missouri; thence North 830 22' 00" West, along
the North Line thereof, 86.55 feet to a 1/2" Iron Rod;
thence South 060 48' 00" West, 63.10 feet to a 1/2" Iron
Rod; thence North 830 09' 00" West, 111.13 feet; thence
South 060 48' 38" West, 223.23 feet to the Northerly
Right -of -Way Line of Morgan Oak Street; thence North 830
09' 00" West, along said Right -of -Way, 181.50 feet to its

intersection with the Easterly Right -of -Way Line of
Pacific Street; thence North 060 44' 39" East, along said
Easterly Right -of -Way, 448.15 feet to the Place of
Beginning, in the City and County of Cape Girardeau
County, Missouri.
ARTICLE 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that the
property described in Article 1 hereof is at the present time
particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of R-4, Multiple
Dwelling District, and that such changes authorized hereby are
reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the existing uses and
value of the immediately surrounding properties.
ARTICLE 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
