AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 812 AND
836 NORTH SPRIGG STREET, CITY AND COUNTY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI FROM R-4 TO C-1
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Article 1 of
this ordinance should be rezoned from R-4, Multiple Dwelling
District to C-1, Local Commercial District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as
prescribed in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and public hearing was held on Monday,
April 3, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in
Article 1 from R-4, Multiple Dwelling District to C-1, Local
Commercial District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the
zoning from the present R-4, Multiple Dwelling District to C-1,
Local Commercial District, for the following described property:
812 Sprigg - That part of Lot No. 77 in Range "P" in
Ingram's Addition in the City and County of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, described as follows: Commence at
the Southwest corner of said Lot 77; thence North 08
degrees 00' 00" East, 113.33 feet along the East right
of way line of Sprigg Street to the place of beginning;
thence continue North 08 degrees 00' 00" East along
said East right of way line, 113.33 feet; thence
leaving said Sprigg Street, South 82 degrees 07' 43"
East, 183.00 feet; thence along the West line of a 10
foot alley, South 08 degrees 00' 00" West, 113.33 feet;
thence North 82 degrees 07' 43" West, 183.00 feet to
the place of beginning.
836 Sprigg - Begin at the northwest corner of said Lot
No. Seventy -Seven (77) aforesaid, and run South along
the East line of Sprigg Street One Hundred and Thirteen
and one-third (113 1/3) feet; thence East, parallel
with Olive Street, One Hundred and Eighty three (183)
feet to an alley; thence North with the West line of
said alley One Hundred and Thirteen and one-third (113
1/3) feet to Olive Street; and thence West along the

South line of Olive Street One Hundred and Eighty-three
(183) feet to the place of beginning.
ARTICLE 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Article 1 hereof is at the present time
particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of C-1, Local
Commercial District, and that such changes authorized hereby are
reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the existing uses
and value of the immediately surrounding properties.
ARTICLE 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
