AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26 OF THE CITY
CODE RELATING TO TRUCKS PARKING REGULATIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. Section 26-256 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, entitled "Trucks; parking regulations
generally", reading as follows:
Sec. 26-256. Trucks; parking regulations generally.
It shall be unlawful for any person to stand or
park a truck tractor, or trailer, semitrailer or pole
trailer having a length in excess of twenty (20) feet,
or any truck having a load capacity of one and one-half
(1 1/2) tons or more on any street of the city, between
the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. , for a period of
more than one (1) hour.

entitled "Trucks; parking regulations generally", is hereby
enacted in lieu thereof, in words and figures, to read as
follows:
Sec. 26-256. Trucks; parking regulations generally.
It shall be unlawful for any person to stand or
park on any street of the City a truck tractor, or
trailer, semitrailer or pole trailer having a length in
excess of twenty (20) feet, or any truck licensed for a
gross weight in excess of twenty-four thousand (24,000)
pounds, except as provided in Section 26-137, between
the hours of 6: 00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. , for a period of
more than one (1) hour.
ARTICLE 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held
invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct
and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions hereof.
ARTICLE 3. It is the intention of the governing body and it
is hereby ordained that the provisions of this ordinance shall
become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and the sections of this Code may be
renumbered to accomplish such intention.

ARTICLE 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
