A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO
A GENERAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH
BOWEN ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING,
INC., FOR THE RODNEY STREET BRIDGE
AND RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The City Manager, for and on behalf of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby authorized to execute an
Amendment to a General Services Contract dated October 5, 1998,
with Bowen Engineering and Surveying, Inc. for the Rodney Street
Bridge and Reconstruction Project. A copy of said Amendment is
attached to this Resolution and made a part ereof.

AMENDMENT TO
GENERAL SERVICES CONTRACT
RODNEY STREET BRIDGE AND RECONSTRUCTION
This supplementary agreement amends the General Services Contract, between Bowen
Engineering & Surveying, Inc., hereinafter referred to as the Engineer, and the City of
Cape Girardeau, hereinafter referred to as the Owner. The General Services Contract,
between the Owner and Engineer, was approved on October 5, 1998 by action of the
City Council's Resolution No. 1403. This amendment is for engineering services
relating to the construction phase of the Rodney Street Bridge and Pavement
Reconstruction Project.
Whereas, the Owner intends to (a) replace the Rodney Street Bridge over Cape La
Croix Creek, and (b) reconstruct approximately 2200 feet of roadway, including
reconstruction of existing side street entrances, storm sewers and other drainage
features, and whereas the engineer agrees to provide engineering services for this
Project, and to complete the work, to the satisfaction of the Owner, and for the hourly
rates set forth in Attachment A of the General Services Contract.
ARTICLE I - SCOPE OF SERVICES
A. CONSTRUCTION PHASE - The Engineer will:
1. Provide centerline control and bridge bent centerline control for the
bridge construction, roadway centerline stationing, pipe placement
control, grading and paving control stakes and general right of way
limits. Each item will be staked one time.
2. Provide a minimum of one benchmark adjacent to the project site.
The Engineer will provide these services for the hourly rates set forth in the Engineering
Services Contract. The fee for this project should not exceed $7,195.00. All Articles of
the General Services agreement apply to this amendment, as if fully set forth herein.
Additionally, any re -staking that may be required by the contractor, will be charged to
the Owner, in accordance with the hourly rates set forth in Attachment A of the General
Services Contract. It is the understanding of the Engineer that the Owner will be
reimbursed by the contractor for any re -staking occurring during the construction of the
project.
