A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AN ADDENDUM TO AN ENGINEERING
SERVICES CONTRACT WITH KOEHLER ENGINEERING
AND LAND SURVEYING, INC., FOR THE NEW
MADRID STREET PROJECT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The City Manager, for and on behalf of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby authorized to execute an
Addendum to an Engineering Services Contract, dated September 21,
2000, with Koehler Engineering and Land Surveying, Inc. for the
New Madrid Street Project. A copy of said Addendum is attached
to this Resolution and made a part hereof.

ADDENDUM TO CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
THIS ADDENDUM TO THE EXISTING CONTRACT dated September 21, 2000, for design
services for a waterline along the North line of New Madrid Street from the West line of
Henderson Avenue to the East line of West End Blvd., is between the City of Cape Girardeau,
hereinafter referred to as the "City" and Koehler Engineering and Land Surveying, Inc.,
hereinafter referred to as the "Engineer".
Except as modified hereafter, all articles and provisions of the original contract shall remain in
full force and effect.
ARTICLE I — SCOPE OF SERVICES
C. ADDITIONAL DESIGN SERVICES
1. At the direction of the City, the Engineer will modify the completed design,
to add a 6" diameter waterline along the north line of New Madrid Street,
from the west line of Henderson Avenue to the East line of West End Blvd.,
and provide crossing connections under New Madrid Street for future
extensions of lines on Illinois Avenue and Park Street.
2. All aspects of the plans required will be adjusted in accordance with the
additional work indicated above. Items to be addressed shall include but not
be limited to adjusting of planned improvements to facilitate the construction
of the new waterline and the street widening during a single construction
project.
3. Additional Easement plats and documents shall be prepared as required for
the project in the relocated area.
ARTICLE IV — PERIOD OF SERVICE
The Engineer will commence work required by the addendum within two days after receiving
notice to proceed from the City. The addendum work shall be completed in accordance with the
following schedule:
A. Plans completed for review by city staff — Within 14 calendar days after receipt of
notice to proceed.
B. Final Plans revised and Completed — Within 7 calendar days after completion of
review of preliminary plans by City.
C. Easement plats and documents completed (if required) — Within 7 calendar days of
completion of review of preliminary plans by City.
The above times are exclusive of review time by other agencies and exclusive of time needed to
acquire right-of-way. The City will grant time extensions for unavoidable delays beyond the
control of the Engineer. Requests for extensions of time shall be requested in writing by the
Engineer, stating fully the reasons for the request.
ARTICLE V — STANDARDS
For services provided under this addendum, the City will compensate the Engineer as follows:
A. For additional design services, including work through the construction contract
award the City will reimburse the Engineer for the hours expended and at the hourly rates
set forth in Attachment "A" of the original contract. For the basic design services set
forth in this addendum, reimbursement to the Engineer shall not exceed $ 2,630.00
which sum includes the field survey and design services for the modification of the
completed design covering waterline improvements described herein.
ARTICLE XIX
This addendum is made and entered into subject to the approval of the City of Cape Girardeau.
ARTICLE XX — ATTACHMENTS
The following exhibits are attached hereto and are hereby made part of this contract:
