RESOLUTION NO. i
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI WEED AND SEED,
INC., FOR A WEED AND SEED PROGRAM
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The City Manager, for and on behalf of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby authorized to execute a
Contract for Services with Southeast Missouri Weed and Seed,
Inc., to develop, coordinate and implement Weed and Seed
programming for the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. A copy of
said Contract is attached to this Resolution and made a part
hereof.

CONTRACT FOR SERVICES
THIS AGREEMENT ENTERED this 1'day of July, 2000 by and between the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri(a Charter City of the State of Missouri)(herein the"Client")and Southeast Missouri
Weed and Seed, Inc. (a not-for-profit corporation of the State of Missouri)(Herein the"Contractor")
WITNESSETH
The CONTRACTOR in association with the United States Department of Justice and other Federal
agencies, shall develop, coordinate and implement Weed and Seed programming for the City of Cape
Girardeau.
The CONTRACTOR shall develop, coordinate and implement programming in conjunction with
other state and regional programs and organizations that shall be designed to rid targeted areas of violent
crimes; provide prevention, intervention, and treatment services for substance abuse and other social
problems.
The CONTRACTOR shall undertake efforts as to revitalize the community through housing and
economic development.
The CONTRACTOR shall undertake other such actions which seek to improve the quality of life for
all citizens of Cape Girardeau.
The CLIENT agrees to engage, and does engage the services of the CONTRACTOR for the period
of July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001.
The CLIENT agrees to pay for said services for said term the sum of ten thousand dollars,($10,000).
