A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A RELEASE OF LIEN FOR THE COMMUNITY
BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau previously entered into an
Agreement dated December 22, 1995, with Howard McGee, now deceased,
for the grant of funds to make repairs to his residence at 605
Maple Street, West 80 feet of the North 2 of Lot 12 and the West 80
feet of Lots 13 and 14, Block 2, Giboney Houck's Second
Subdivision, in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, all pursuant
to the Community Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, that grant agreement was recorded in the land records
of Cape Girardeau County at Book 787 at Page 227, and by its terms,
the lien expires upon the death of the owner, Howard McGee; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, to release the lien created by the agreement dated
December 22, 1995.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute a
Release of Lien and to cause said Release to be recorded in the
land records of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, so that the above
described property may be free of any lien or claim by the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, by reason of the Agreement dated December
22, 1995, and recorded in Book 787 at Page 227 of the land records
of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.
