RESOLUTION NO. 5C)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, STATING INTENT TO SEEK FUNDING
THROUGH THE FEDERAL HOME LOAN BANK OF DES
MOINES, IOWA, FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM
FUNDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
PURSUE ACTIVITIES IN AN ATTEMPT TO SECURE
FUNDING TO SUPPLEMENT A NEIGHBORHOOD
REHABILITATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Iowa
administers the Affordable Housing Program created to increase
affordable housing opportunities principally for low income
families; and
WHEREAS, The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Iowa does
offer to communities the opportunities of monetary assistance in
accomplishing its stated primary objectives; and
WHEREAS, The City does have areas of need which may be
addressed through the Affordable Housing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. That the City desires to participate with the
Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Iowa in plans and
activities for the improvement of our community under the
activities authorized pursuant to the Affordable Housing Program.
ARTICLE 2. The City Manager of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, is hereby authorized to prepare and submit documents
which are necessary in applying for funding and establishing an
administrative organization to implement activities pursuant to
the aforementioned Program.
