AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SCHEDULE A OF
SECTION 26-256 OF THE CITY CODE, BY
ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ALONG PORTIONS
OF KINGSHIGHWAY AND BENTON HILL ROAD, IN
THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :
ARTICLE 1 . Schedule A of Section 26-256 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby
amended by repealing the speed limits along portions of
Kingshighway, in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the
following locations :
Kingshighway (Interstate 55 at exit 99 to 160 ft north of
Boulder Crest Drive) - 55 MPH.
Kingshighway (160 ft north of Boulder Crest Drive to 625 ft
north of Cape Rock Drive) - 45 MPH.
ARTICLE 2 . Schedule A of Section 26-256 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby
amended by establishing speed limits in the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, at the following locations :
Kingshighway (Western City Limits, on the west side of
the I-55 Right of Way at exit 99 to 775 feet east of
Veterans Memorial Drive) - 45 MPH.
Kingshighway (775 feet east of Veterans Memorial Drive
to 160 ft north of Boulder Crest Drive) - 55 MPH.
Kingshighway (160 ft north of the south entrance to
Boulder Crest Drive to 625 ft north of Cape Rock
Drive) - 45 MPH.
Benton Hill Road (Bloomfield Rd westerly to the City
Limits) - 35 MPH.
ARTICLE 3 . It is the intention of the governing body and it
is hereby ordained that the provisions of this ordinance shall
become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinances of the City

of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and the sections of this Code may
be renumbered to accomplish such intention.
ARTICLE 4 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval .
