MUNICIPAL ATRPORT BOARD
JANUARY 15, 1976
A special meeting of the Airport Board was held
at the Municipal Airport, at 8:30 a.m. , January 15, 1976.
The following members were present:
Paul C. Miles
Doctor Paul Grisham
Also, present were:
City Manager, G. W. Lawley
Airport Manager, Robert Gass
President and General Manager,
Cape Central Airways� David Little
Vice President, Cape Central �irways,
James Estes
The Chairman, Paul C. Miles, then stated that only
two members of the Airport Board were present, which did
not represent a quorum.
It was then decided to have a general discussion
with Mr . Estes and Mr . Little on what their plans are as
the new fixed base operators, and what they would like the
City to do in a combined effort to make a better fixed
base operation.
Mr. Estes then asked for approval. of the following:
1. To add a 10,000 gallon fuel tank and loading
dock to the existing fuel storage. Mr. Estes
stated he would construct a levee around the
tank in order to meet safety requirements.
2. To install a door from the class room into the
shop. Mr . Lawley stated the door would have to
be some type of a fire door.
3. To convert a room now used for storage into a
Pilot Lounge.

4. Install a telephone in the restaurant for Cape
Central pilots for incoming calls only.
5. Mr. Estes then stated to Mr. Lawley, that he
would like for the City to repair the old Navy
hanger, so it could be used for an engine
overhaul facility.
6. Mr . Estes asked if the City had any plans for
financing a new building program.
Mr. Lawley then asked Mr . Estes if he would do the
financing or would like to work out a plan with the City.
Mr. Lawley asked Mr. Estes what type of buildings he
would prefer. Mr. Estes said he would present plans for
T-Hangers. Mr. Lawley said the firm of Horner & Schifrin,
Inc. , was to provide a new set o:E plans for future develop-
ment of the airport. Mr. Miles stated that these plans had
been promised for more than a year.
In clasing the discussion, Mr. Lawley asked Mr. Estes
if he would be willing to negotiate a new lease. Mr. Estes
said he would be open-minded on the matter.
The meeting then adjourned.
