The City Manager, for and on behalf of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby authorized to execute Authorization No. 12 to the Master Services Agreement, dated March 21, 1994 , with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. , for the potable water treatment system, said Authorization No. 12 being a Route Study for 20-inch Main Project. St. Louis, Missouri In accordance with the AGREEMENT for PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES dated March 21, 1994, between the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, (hereinafter called OWNER), and Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. (hereinafter called ENGINEER), OWNER hereby authorizes ENGINEER to proceed with the following services: I. SCOPE This Authorization No. 12 covers services involved in the study and determination of route and alignment of a 20" water main befinreen the Cape Rock Treatment Plant and Big Bend Road in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. A detailed description of the scope of services anticipated to be completed by ENGINEER and major assumptions upon which ENGINEER will rely in providing these services are presented in "Exhibits A and B". II. SCHEDULE ENGINEER will proceed with providing the services set forth herein immediately upon verbal notice to proceed from OWNER, and will complete the study defined herein within four(4) weeks following receipt of notice to proceed from OWNER. It is understood that adherence to this schedule is contingent on the timely receipt from the OWNER of information needed by the ENGINEER to carry out this assignment, and the prompt review and return of all documents by OWNER of submittals from ENGINEER for comment and approval, as well as any delays created by events beyond the control of the ENGINEER (such as adverse weather conditions, regulatory agency actions, force majeure events, etc.) Page 1 of 2 \\STLSRV�MKTG\MFC�CAPEGI R\distsys120routeCONT.doc III. Vice President - Page2of2 _ _�.,T �-- CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI Water Main Route Study for 20" Main Project EXHIBIT A LIST OF ANTICIPATED MAJOR WORK TASKS Following is a listing of the major work tasks anticipated to be completed for this project. ■ Hold kick-off meeting with OWNER staff concerned with this effort. Purpose of the meeting will be to confirm the project limits and objectives, verify required schedule for study, and obtain other pertinent guidance regarding project from OWNER staff. ■ Examine three possible routes: ➢ Along Cape Rock Drive west to intersection of Big Bend and Cape Rock Drive (approximately 4800 linear feet) ➢ North from Cape Rock Plant to golf course and along Country Club Drive to intersection of Cape Rock Drive and Big Bend (approximately 7200 linear feet) ➢ Along Cape Rock Drive east and north along river to Hwy 177 —follow Hwy 177 west and south to Big Bend (Hwy 177) and Cape Rock Drive (approximately 17,300 linear feet) ■ Analyze possible routes: ➢ Field review of each route ➢ Develop a property strip map of each route from photocopies of tax maps for each route. Tax maps are assumed to be available from local assessor office or City Planning office. ➢ Prepare a preliminary route layout on city topographic quad sheets for each route. ➢ Prepare preliminary construction costs for each route. ➢ Prepare a constructibility review of each route. ■ Prepare letter report summarizing above activities. Assistance by placing at ENGINEER'S disposal all available current information pertinent to this assignment, including previous plans, specifications, reports, permits, easement documentation, and other data. 6. Liaison with other City of Cape Girardeau Departments and governing officials involved in the project. C. Available as-built drawings, specifications, design notes, etc. defining the configuration of the exiting water distribution system layout for the City of Cape Girardeau service area. D. Available data on construction costs for similar and/or related work recently completed by the City of Cape Girardeau. E. Reasonable access to other data and records related to this assignment that ENGINEER may determine need for. ENGINEER shall rely on information, drawings, etc. made available by OWNER as accurate, based only on verification of certain key parameters (if necessary).
