A CORRECTED ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
LEVYING OF THE ANNUAL CITY REVENUE TAX;
PUBLIC HEALTH TAX; SPECIAL BUSINESS
DISTRICT NO. 2 TAX; FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
ENDING JUNE 30, 2022
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1 . There is hereby levied for the fiscal year
ending June 30, 2022, a City revenue tax of Thirty and Fifty
Seven One Hundredths Cents ($ . 3057) on the One Hundred
Dollars ($100 . 00) assessed valuation of all property within
the City limits made taxable by law for state and county
purposes and not by general law exempt from taxation for
municipal purposes .
ARTICLE 2 . There is hereby levied for the fiscal year
ending June 30, 2022, a public health tax of Five and
Seventy-Three One Hundredths Cents ($ . 0573) on the One
Hundred Dollars ($100 . 00) assessed valuation of all property
within the City limits made taxable by law for state and
county purposes and not by general law exempt from taxation
for municipal purposes .
ARTICLE 3 . There is hereby levied for Special Business
District No. 2 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for the fiscal
year ending June 30, 2022, an ad valorem real estate tax of
Sixty-seven and Eighty-nine One Hundredths Cents ($ . 6789) on
the One Hundred Dollars ($100 . 00) assessed valuation of all
real estate within the Special Business District No. 2 of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, not by general law exempt from
taxation.
ARTICLE 4 . If any section, subsection, sentence,
clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason
held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate,
distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.
ARTICLE 5 . Pursuant to Section 3 . 15 (a) of the Charter
of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, this measure is
adopted as an emergency measure as it constitutes a Bill
concerning the immediate preservation of public peace,
property, health, safety or morals . Specifically,
notification of these rates must be given to the County
Clerk' s office by the close of business on September 1, 2021.
Accordingly, this ordinance will take effect immediately upon
its passage and approval .
