AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 920 NORTH MIDDLE STREET, IN THE
CITY AND COUNTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI,
FROM R-2 TO RUMD
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended rezoning all of the property described in Article 1
of this Ordinance from R-2, Single-Family Urban Residential
District, to RUMD, Residential Urban Mixed Density District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as
prescribed in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and a public hearing was held on
Monday, July 6, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in
Article 1 from R-2, Single-Family Urban Residential District, to
RUMD, Residential Urban Mixed Density District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :
ARTICLE 1 . Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change
the zoning from the present R-2, Single-Family Urban Residential
District, to RUMD, Residential Urban Mixed Density District, for
the following described property:
All that part of Lot One Hundred Fourteen (114) in
Range "Q" of Ingram' s Addition to the City and County
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, described as follows :
From the Northwest corner of said Lot 114 run South
along the West line of said lot for a distance of 116
feet to the Southwest corner of a tract of land deeded
to Dillingham and wife as shown by deed recorded in
Book 153 at Page 505 for a Place of Beginning of the
tract to be described; thence run East along the South
line of said Dillingham tract for a distance of 188
feet to the Southeast corner thereof; thence South and
parallel with the West line of said lot to the South
line of said lot; thence West with the South line 188

feet to the Southwest corner of said lot; thence North
with the West line to the Place of Beginning.
ARTICLE 2 . The City Council hereby finds and declares
that the property described in Article 1 hereof is at the
present time particularly suitable for the purposes and
uses of the RUMD, Residential Urban Mixed Density District,
and that such changes authorized hereby are reasonable and
in reasonable conformity with the existing uses and value
of the immediately surrounding properties .
ARTICLE 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval .
