AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 26-246 OF
THE CITY CODE, REGARDING PARKING NEAR
SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS, IN THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1 . Section 26-246 (a) (2) (d) of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, regarding parking near
signalized intersections, and reading as follows :
Section 26-246 . Prohibited generally.
(a) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other
traffic, or in compliance with law or the
directions of a police officer or official traffic-
control device, no person shall :
(2) Stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or
not, except momentarily to pick up or
discharge passengers :
d. Within seventy-five (75) feet upon the
approach to any flashing signal, stop
sign, or traffic-control signal located
at the side of a roadway.
is hereby repealed in its entirety, and a new Section 26-246 (a)
(2) (d) is hereby enacted in lieu, in words and figures, to read as
follows :
Section 26-246 . Prohibited generally.
(a) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other
traffic, or in compliance with law or the
directions of a police officer or official traffic-
control device, no person shall :
(2) Stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or
not, except momentarily to pick up or
discharge passengers :
d. Within seventy-five (75) feet of the
approach to any intersection controlled
by an electronic traffic control device.
ARTICLE 2 . Section 26-246 (a) (2) (f) of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, regarding prohibited

(a) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other
traffic, or in compliance with law or the
directions of a police officer or official traffic-
control device, no person shall :
(2) Stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or
not, except momentarily to pick up or
discharge passengers :
f . At any place where official signs

f . Within thirty (30) feet of the approach
to a stop sign.
g. At any place where official signs
prohibit parking.
ARTICLE 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval .
