AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 1218
MEADOWBROOK LANE, IN THE CITY AND COUNTY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, FROM R-1 TO M-2
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended rezoning all of the property described in Article 1
of this ordinance from R-1, Single-Family Suburban Residential
District, to M-2, Heavy Manufacturing/Industrial District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as
prescribed in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and public hearing was held on
Monday, January 9, 2012 ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in
Article 1 from R-1, Single-Family Suburban Residential District,
to M-2 , Heavy Manufacturing/Industrial District; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :
ARTICLE 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change
the zoning of 1218 Meadowbrook Lane, in the City and County of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, from R-1, Single-Family Suburban
Residential District, to M-2 , Heavy Manufacturing/Industrial
District, said area including the following described property:
A parcel of land containing 0 . 73 of an acre, more or less,
part of which is located in the Southeast Quarter of the
Southeast Quarter of Fractional Section 14 , and part in
Survey 2919, all in Township 30 North, Range 13 East, more
particularly described as follows : Start at the southeast
corner of said Section 14; thence North along the line
between Sections 13 and 14, 457 . 0 feet for the Point of
Beginning; thence West 360 . 0 feet for a corner in the east
right-of-way line of U. S . Highway No . 61; thence North
along the east right-of-way line a distance of 146 . 8 feet
for a corner; thence South 750 30 ' East 378 . 0 feet to a
point in Little Ramsey Creek; thence South 80 0' East, 45 . 0

feet for a corner; thence West, 50 . 0 feet to the Point of
Beginning.
Article 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Article 1 hereof is at the present
time particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of a M-2,
Heavy Manufacturing/Industrial District, and that such changes
authorized hereby are reasonable and in reasonable conformity
with the existing uses and value of the immediately surrounding
properties .
Article 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval .
