AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A
SPECIAL TAX BILL ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1005
LOCUST STREET FOR THE DEMOLITION OF A
DANGEROUS BUILDING AND FOR THE ABATEMENT OF A
NUISANCE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 7 AND
CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU
WHEREAS, the Building Supervisor of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, issued Order (s) causing a certain dangerous
building to be demolished; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau did cause said building to
be demolished in accordance with the Orders thereby incurring
certain expenses; and
WHEREAS, the Building Supervisor authorized the issuance of a
certain tax bill; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, issued notices
causing certain nuisances to be abated; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau did cause said nuisances
to be abated in accordance with the Orders thereby incurring
certain expenses; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 of the City Code authorize
the issuance of a tax bill to recover said expenses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS :
Article 1 . There is hereby levied, and the City Clerk is
hereby authorized and ordered to place on file a Special Tax Bill
issued in accordance with the Order (s) of the Building Supervisor
and the Nuisance Abatement Officer which shall be a lien against
the following described property in accordance with law, in the
following amount, until paid or collected by the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri :
$4 , 635 . 06 - 1005 Locust Street
All of Lot 3 in Block 15 of Giboney Houck' s Fourth
Subdivision, in the City and County of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri .
ARTICLE 2 . Said Tax Bill shall bear an interest rate of eight
per cent (8%) per annum.
ARTICLE 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval .

DEMOLITION OF DANGEROUS BUILDING
AND ABATEMENT OF NUISANCE
To the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri .
For work done and costs and expenses incurred in abating a
nuisance by demolition of a dangerous building under the
provisions of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and chargeable against :

Cape Girardeau, MO 63701
in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; said building has been
demolished in accordance with the Order of the Building
Supervisor dated October 26, 2015, and the: costs incurred for
demolition of the buildings were Three Thousand Eight Hundred
Dollars ($3, 800 . 00) ; and
For work done and costs and expenses incurred in abating a
nuisance by the removal of weeds and trash under the provisions
of Chapter 13 of the Code of ordinances of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, said property has been cleared in
accordance with the Order of the Nuisance Abatement Officer, and
the costs incurred for said abatement were Eight Hundred Thirty-
five Dollars and Six Cents ($835 . 06) .
Therefore, I , Gayle L. Conrad, City Clerk of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, do hereby certify that the work was
done as reported to the City Building Supervisor under the
provisions of Chapter 7-272 ( 6) , said report dated September 13,
2016; and
:1 also certify that the work was done as reported to the
Abatement Hearing Officer under the provisions of Section 13-34
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri; and
T also certify that the costs and expenses incurred by the
City as set forth in said reports totals Four Thousand Six
Hundred Thirty-five Dollars and Six Cents ($4, 635 . 06) which

amount the City Council has ordered assessed as a special tax
,against Lhe following described property, tc—,,iit :

the same being the sum fixed as costs by the reports of the
Building Supervisor and the Abatement Hearing Officer.
This Special Tax Bill bears interest at the rate of eight
per cent (8%) per annum from its date and is a special lien
against the land herein described. T'he lien hereof shall
continue ten (10) years after the date of issue, unless sooner
paid, and in the event suit is brought to enforce such lien,
then until the expiration of such litigation.
Issued by authority of Ordinance No . -11?oe passed and
