AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SCHEDULE A OF
SECTION 26-228 OF THE CITY CODE, BY
AMENDING SPEED LIMITS ON KINGSHIGHWAY,
IN THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. That portion of Schedule A of Section 26-228 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri,
which established the following electric traffic control
signals:
N. Kingshighway (North City Limits to end of divided
highway) -55 MPH
N. Kingshighway (end of divided pavement to Kurre) -
50 MPH
N. Kingshighway (Kurre to Hopper) - 45 MPH
Kingshighway (Hopper to William) - 35 mph
Kingshighway (William to Gerhardt Streets) - 45 MPH
South Kingshighway, Gerhardt Street to South
Kingshighway, referred to as Old US 61 - 55 MPH
South Kingshighway, South Kingshighway, referred to as
Old US 61 to Interstate 55 - 55 MPH

ARTICLE 2. Schedule A of Section 26-228 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby
amended by establishing speed limits on Kingshighway in the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the following locations:
Kingshighway (Interstate 55 at exit 99 to 160 ft north
of Boulder Crest Drive) - 55 MPH
Kingshighway (160 ft north of Boulder Crest Drive to
625 ft north of Cape Rock Drive) - 45 MPH
Kingshighway (625 ft north of Cape Rock Drive to 525 ft
south of Good Hope Street) - 35 MPH
Kingshighway (525 ft south of Good Hope Street to 115
ft south of Gerhardt Street) - 45 MPH
Kingshighway (115 ft south of Gerhardt Street to
Interstate 55 at exit 93) - 55 MPH
ARTICLE 3. It is the intention of the governing body
and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this
ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and the
sections of this Code may be renumbered to accomplish such
intention.
ARTICLE 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after ten days after its final passage and approval.
