AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, BY REZONING PROPERTY LOCATED AT
1121 MERRIWETHER STREET, IN THE CITY AND
COUNTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, FROM R-4
TO RUMD
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has voted
to recommend that all of the property described in Article 1 of
this ordinance should be rezoned from R-4, Medium Density Multi
Family Residential District, to RUMP, Residential Urban Mixed
Density District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of said rezoning was given as
prescribed in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau Missouri, and public hearing was held on
Monday, February 3, 2014, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in
Article I from R-4, Medium Density Multi Family Residential
District, to RUMD, Residential Urban Mixed Density District; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to rezone
the property located at 1121 Merriwether Street, in the City and
County of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, from R-4, Medium Density
Multi Family Residential District, to RUMD, Residential Urban
Mixed Density District, said area including the following
described property:
All of Lot numbered two (2), in Block numbered
fourteen (14), of West End Place Second Addition to
the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, as shown by plat
recorded in Plat Book #2, at Page #13, of the land
records of Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.
Article 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Article 1 hereof is at the present time
particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of a RUMD,
Residential Urban Mixed Density District, and that such changes
authorized hereby are reasonable and in reasonable conformity
with the existing uses and value of the immediately surrounding
properties.
Article 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval.
