RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE PROPOSAL FROM MACO
DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, LLC, FOR THE SILVER SPRINGS
APARTMENTS SENIOR CITIZEN HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, MACO Development Company, LLC is proposing to
build forty (40) single story garden style apartments for senior
citizens on an approximate 6.8 acre site north of the
intersection of Silver Springs Road and Spruce Street; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau recognizes the need for
safe, affordable, quality homes for senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, the financing and tax credits available through
the Missouri Housing Development Commission will provide the
financial resources to develop these apartments with affordable
rents, and;
WHEREAS, the financing and tax credits available through
the Missouri Housing Development Commission are limited and
competitive resources.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The City Council hereby expresses its support
for the proposal from MACO Development Company, LLC, for the
2014 MHDC Multi -family Rental Production Program Notice of
Funding Availability, for the Silver Springs Apartments Project
for Senior Citizen Housing.
